Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro vs Mini Booster Pro: Which Home Beauty Device Is Right for You?
"Medicube's AGE-R devices are the home beauty gadgets everyone in Seoul seems to own, and the question we're asked most is simple: the full Booster Pro or the Mini? They look similar and both promise better-absorbed skincare, but they're built for different people. I used both for six weeks, side by side, with the same serums. Here is what each one does, what it doesn't, and which one is worth it for you."
The short answer: Booster Pro or Mini?
Choose the Booster Pro if you want one device for several jobs: better-absorbed serums, a toning microcurrent mode, an EMS mode for the jawline and a pore-refining mode, used at home a few times a week. Choose the Mini Booster Pro if you mainly want your serums and masks to feel more effective, in a light device you'll actually travel with. Both are skincare tools, not medical treatments; they work best with a consistent routine and realistic expectations.
Booster (electroporation)
Gentle electrical pulses intended to help serums absorb better than by hand. The core of both devices.
Microcurrent
Very low-level current used in beauty devices for a smoother, more toned look with regular use. Booster Pro only.
EMS (Derma Shot)
Electrical muscle stimulation for a firmer-looking contour, especially along the jaw. Booster Pro only.
Air Shot
A mode used on dry skin to help refine the look of pores and texture, two to three times a week. Booster Pro only.
How I tested. Six weeks on my combination skin: Booster Pro on the left side of my face, Mini on the right, both in booster mode with the same serum, plus the Pro's extra modes three times a week. I judged absorption feel, comfort, noise, battery life and how often I actually reached for each one. Device effects are gradual and vary between people; I've kept that honest below.

"I want one device that does everything, and I'll use it at home a few evenings a week."
The All-Rounder: Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro
The Booster Pro is Medicube's multi-mode flagship, described by the brand as 6-in-1. It's the right choice if you'll use the extra modes; if you only ever use booster mode, the Mini does that job for less.
Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro
Booster mode uses electroporation to help serums and ampoules absorb; MC mode uses microcurrent for a smoother, more toned look; Derma Shot uses EMS for the contour; and Air Shot is used on dry skin a few times a week for pores and texture. Wet modes are used over a generous layer of serum or gel. After six weeks, my left side looked smoother and slightly more defined along the jaw, most noticeably in the days after I'd used the MC and Derma Shot modes; the effect builds with consistency and fades if you stop. At 155g it's comfortable for a 10-minute session but not something I packed for weekends.
Best for: anyone who wants several home-care modes in one device; firmness and contour goals; regular evening routines.Less suited to: people who only want better serum absorption (the Mini is enough); frequent travellers; anyone for whom device use isn't advised (see below).
Editor’s tip: Always keep the head moving and in contact with skin, and use plenty of serum or gel in wet modes so it glides. Start on the lowest level for the first week.

The Travel Essential: Medicube AGE-R Mini Booster Pro
The Mini focuses on one thing: booster mode with electroporation, to help serums, ampoules and sheet masks absorb. At roughly half the weight of the full device, it's the one that ended up in my bag.
Medicube AGE-R Mini Booster Pro
Apply your serum, ampoule or a sheet mask, switch on, and glide the head upwards and outwards in constant contact with the skin. On my right side, the serum felt absorbed faster and my skin looked more hydrated and glowy the next morning, very similar to booster mode on the full device. What you don't get are the microcurrent, EMS and pore modes. At 75g it's genuinely portable, and it was the device I used most consistently over the six weeks.
Best for: beginners to beauty devices; hydration and glow goals; travel; anyone who prefers one simple mode.Less suited to: anyone mainly interested in contour or firmness modes; choose the Booster Pro.
Editor’s tip: Use it over a sheet mask for five minutes; it's the quickest glow before an event I've found.

How to use a Medicube device safely and get results
Devices reward consistency and gentle technique. A few minutes, a few times a week, beats an occasional long session.
Prep
Clean skin, then a generous layer of serum, ampoule or gel for wet modes. Air Shot is used on clean, dry skin.
Technique
Keep the head moving and in full contact, upwards and outwards. Avoid the eyelids, lips and any irritated area.
Who should check first
Devices like these are generally not advised with a pacemaker or other implanted electronics, metal implants in the face, during pregnancy, or on broken or inflamed skin. Read the manual and ask your doctor if unsure.

Your Medicube Device Questions, Answered
Differences, results, safety and which serum to use.
What is the difference between the Medicube Booster Pro and the Mini?
The Booster Pro is a multi-mode device with booster (electroporation), microcurrent, EMS and pore-refining modes. The Mini Booster Pro focuses on booster mode only, in a lighter, travel-friendly body. If you mainly want serums to absorb better, the Mini is enough.
How often should I use the AGE-R Booster Pro?
Most people use it a few times a week for a few minutes per mode, with Air Shot two to three times a week. Follow the manual, start on the lowest level, and give it several weeks before judging results.
Do Medicube devices really work?
They can help serums feel more effective and support a smoother, more toned look with consistent use. Results are gradual, vary between people and fade if you stop. They are skincare tools, not a replacement for clinical treatments.
Who should not use a Medicube device?
Check with your doctor before using an electrical beauty device if you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, metal implants in the face, are pregnant, or have epilepsy. Don't use it on broken, inflamed or freshly treated skin.
Which serum should I use with the Booster Pro?
Any water-based serum, ampoule or gel you already like works. Peptide and PDRN serums such as the Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum are popular partners. Avoid strong acids or retinoids in the same session.
